PICKING YOUR PERFUME

Picking the right perfume is no easy task.

• Perfume is a very personal thing. What is lovely to you may be quite something else on another woman. Your chemical make up, hormones and skin has a lot to do with how your body processes the scents. What is right for one woman may not be right for another. Exactly the same scent may smell completely different from one woman to  another.
   

• A quality perfume, applied carefully, will last all day (the lower décolletage is the best place because of body heat). Daily activity will generate heat and sweat and "bring out the scent"' However, that can differ from person to person based on the condition of his or her skin. Perfumes tend to last longer on oily skin because oily skin has more natural moisture to hold in the scent, as small amounts are released throughout the day. You can mimic oily skin by applying baby oil or Vaseline before the perfume.
   

• The same effect is achieved by ̀est perfumes. As you wear your perfume throughout the day, carefully applied perfume will continue to emit it's signature scent because the blood vessels closest to the skin give off heat and act like mini scent diffusers.


 

• Quality perfumes mature at six weeks, then diffuse to a 12 month shelf life. It is therefore a good idea to use more fragrance either side of maturity and less when the fragrance has more intensity.
   

• ̀est perfumes are gentle on application neither stinging, sharp, disturbing nor alarming...as opposed to many high profile commercial perfumes - which often contain chemicals of dubious value.
   

• For social occasions, you may feel you are “competing” with several other perfumes in the room. A light dab of ̀est on the décolletage area (best place because of body heat) is usually enough.
